Orphaned & Forgotten
by the World
34 million children in Sub-Sahara, Africa are destitute and parentless. According to UNICEF, over the past 5 years hundreds of thousands of
children in the Democratic Republic of Congo alone have become
orphans as a result of HIV, AIDS and one of the bloodiest and under reported civil
wars since World War II. Starving, ill, homeless and parentless, they
face a dim future - if a future exists for them at all.
Kinshasa, Democratic
Republic of Congo, Sub-Sahara, Africa
These children are often victims of arbitrary arrest, detention, forced military service as child soldiers, and ill treatment... A situation complicated by the fact that they cannot rely on relatives or the community to locate them, organize legal assistance or bring them food. The outlook and opportunities for their physical, psychological and spiritual growth is miserable.

What
will happen to all these abandoned children?
Who will house and educate the - Take care of them? Who Will
protect the Rights of a Child?
The
Bulela Kabujimini Orphanage primary focus is to put
in place a set of solutions to these questions.
Our
vision is to empower these disenfranchised
members of society by actively providing them with the tools
necessary for them develop into sound, independent, responsible
citizens.
Once construction is completed, the orphanage will provide these vulnerable members of society with a home, food, clothing, education at all grade levels, ongoing health care and counseling, daily recreation, a chance to learn a trade. And, last but not least... Love. We're hope to make a positive impact on the lives of these children. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in.
